32 Week Checkup

Yesterday I had my 32 week dr's appointment and sonogram. The doctor's appointment went well, I was assured the pain and nausea I've been randomly feeling is completely normal and they seemed surprised that I've had zero swelling. My blood pressure was also perfect. I'm pretty healthy for a puffy girl! WOOP!! I saw a different doctor this time, which is probably good because any one of them will be delivering Adam, depending on who's on call that day. In the weight department, I ended up gaining four pounds over the last two weeks. Oops!!!

The doctor I saw yesterday was pretty funny, outgoing and full of life. I told him that I've been feeling this really heavy pressure in my pelvic area and it's really uncomfortable. He replies with, "Yeah, at this point in pregnancy it should feel like everything is about to fall out of your vagina." Haha I said, "Oh. Wow. Okay. Well that about sums up what I'm feeling!" Lol.

I was happy to find out that from here on out, my insurance will completely cover these dr check in appointments. I have another one in two weeks, and then after that I will start going every week.

I also have separate sonogram appointments at the same hospital on the same schedule. I always try to coordinate them on the same days. Yesterday was my 32 week sonogram. This week and from here on out, they now do 10 min heart rate monitoring in a separate room. I understand the need, so it's fine but I admit that it's awkward. They take you in this room with four chairs, ask you to lift up your shirt, hook you up to a machine, and the machine plays the heartbeat as the paper prints out the rhythmic patterns. So we're all in there together, silent, and different baby heartbeats fill the room. I don't know, I just thought that was a little weird.

After the heart rate monitoring, I had my sonogram. Adam is still breech. They were really hoping he would have turned by now, but he sits firmly in place. They are going to give him three more weeks to turn on his own. If he doesn't, they will try to turn him themselves. They will go in, grab him by the butt and physically turn him. Ouch!!!!! I asked how they can do that without breaking the amniotic sack and he says it's just that flexible. That's amazing. They said if they can't turn him, I'll have a c section. Bummer. I really hope he turns on his own. I know he still has some time but he's getting more cramped by the day and most babies have turned by now. We shall see how stubborn my child turns out to be. If he's anything like me, he's not moving.

Everything else looks great! The doctor commented that his breathing is excellent for his gestational age and that he sees zero problems, and is a very healthy baby. He's also gained A LOT of weight in the last two weeks. He's now 4 lbs 14 oz. Holy crap!! I'm going to have a big boy!! Hello, salads and chicken for the remainder of pregnancy!

So yeah, so far everything is going well, just feeling like a house, a very sweaty house with no energy. Lol it's going to be so great to feel like me again, while getting baby boy snuggles. I can't wait!
