Doctor Visit
This past Monday, I had my doctor visit. This was comprised of a visit with my OB and then going up a floor for my monthly ultrasound to measure and see growth and view any problems, if any.
Great news, I only gained two pounds this month. Once I saw that he was growing so fast, I wanted to slow it down a little by consuming less calories. It worked! He went from the 97th percentile to 76th. Also, I asked where he is measuring big, and this was pretty funny. The sonogram lady was like, "Every part of his body is measuring average. I don't understand, nothing is measuring big. Let's look at the lower part of his body." Then she was like, "Oh wow! Look at that femur bone! It's his legs. They are REALLY long." HAHA. This made me laugh. Looks like he got dad's side and the Burns side of height. I'm glad, I was hoping he was going to be tall. So he's average everywhere, except the legs which is why he's weighing a little more because he's longer. But I'm s relieved that he is measuring average everywhere else. I was a bit worried about a big head because you know, that has to come out. Ha.
Looking at this ultrasound was awesome. He's getting so big!!! There was one shot where I got a REALLY good look at him. He had his hand on his face, and then he yawned. SO cute!!!! I'm already so in love!!!!
They said everything is perfect and I'm doing exactly what I need to be doing. This made me happy! YAY! So we're right on track. I love taking care of him, already!
Oh and get this, my super hot doctor that I love so much, I found out I'm high risk! I had no idea!! I was wondering when I got monthly ultrasounds why my friends did not. I said, "I can't believe you didn't tell me!" He's like, "Well I don't really think you are, but they wanted us to send you so we did. You're completely healthy with perfect blood pressure." I said, "Well I can't believe you didn't tell me!" He's like, "Well High Risk is such a negative word." Ha mom says he needs to be less of my boyfriend and more of my doctor. LOL. So I'm assuming it's because I'm fat that I'm high risk. I am tempted to feel bad about that but he's doing great and so am I so I'm not going to bother. Plus it's an awesome excuse to see my baby boy every single month! YAY! :)
I sent all the paperwork to my doctor, to send over to my school district and I got a letter today saying it was received so I am good to go on 8 weeks leave once he gets here. YAY! Next on the to do list is to find a pediatrician. I have an interview set up with one in a couple weeks. I have to find the right fit to take care of my pumpkin!
I have my glucose test next week to see if I have gestational diabetes. Cross you fingers for me that I don't!
Feeling great, my weight is down, I'm in a happy mental place, I am blessed!

That’s great! You don’t have to worry about your body condition, since you’re having regular medical checkups. And it's great that you got positive results in your glucose test. At least there won't be any complications like diabetes that could affect your pregnancy. Take care!
