Daycare Visit

I took my second daycare visit and it didn't go well.  This is the more expensive one that is close to my school.  Their website is very impressive and it's a really nice,  new and big facility so I had high hopes.  When I pulled up,  it looked pretty,  surrounded by trees.  When I came in,  they gave me a tour and showed me the infant room.  This was okay.  There was a baby in a swing,  two on the floor,  one in a bouncer and one asleep.  I didn't like that when I walked in,  the teacher wasn't with them.  She was across the room. It might have been timing because being a teacher myself,  I know that when someone randomly walks in and I'm sitting at my desk,  it doesn't mean I didn't just teach an amazing lesson and the person came in right after.  So I tried to keep an open mind.  I know their job is probably exhausting but I couldn't help but feel a little sad at these babies tending to themselves,  and it seemed a little off that there was only one adult in there with 5 babies.  How could that ratio possibly give them the love,  attention and care that they need?

Then I went into the 1 year old room and this is when I got upset.  There were about ten babies in there.  One was being changed,  one was getting a bottle and some were on the floor,  some were asleep and some were crying by themselves in their crib.  This really upset me.  My worst fear is that Adam will be ignored to cry by himself when he needs love and care.  It just didn't sit well with me at all.  The teachers in that room looked very young,  and had a very glossy eyed look about them,  like they were really disconnected to what was going on around them.  There was no talking or cooing with any babies and that was a huge red flag.

They want 225$ a week and I refuse to pay that kind of money for something I don't feel good about.

The Frisco ISD employees Daycare is the one I visited first.  While I still am not in love with the idea of daycare,  it seems to be my best option.  The ladies are experienced,  older and seem to love babies.  Also I like their curriculum, the other daycare didn't even have one for infants,  which to me is ridiculous.  Infants are discovering their world and have every opportunity for a structured curriculum appropriate for them.

My favorite daycare facility is the Frisco ISD employees one but he might not get in in time so I need a backup plan.

The search continues!!!
