Second Trimester

I'm currently 13 weeks and into the first week of the 2nd trimester. Woop! I'm feeling okay and I "think" I could be getting a tiny bit of energy back. I notice that about every 3-4 days, I am productive. That's way more than I can say about the first trimester. I keep hearing that it's a very slow progression of change so I'm happy to have something.

My doctor was unable to find the heartbeat at my most recent appointment. It was pretty scary at first but I was put to ease when I saw my little baby on the sonogram with it's little heart just truckin' away! I can't believe how much bigger it's gotten! It's about 3 inches long this week. Very cool!

I'm really trying to make some progress on the baby's room. This weekend, my brother is going to take a load of my stuff to my mom's attic so I can make room for more baby stuff. I also bought my favorite mommy quote in a decal to put on the wall, and I bought a toy net to hang for all the stuffed animals I already have for it.

In 5 more weeks, it will not be an IT anymore! I will know the gender on March 24th. I originally wanted to have a dinner on March 22nd, but I couldn't get the appointment until the 24th. Sadds! I'm still uber excited to find out, even though I'm convinced it's a boy!

I'm starting to experience some cramping but the video I got this week said to expect it this week. It's called "round ligament pain." It's crazy, the first time I can feel SOMETHING happening! Too bad it just feels like cramps. BOO!

So the two big milestones I'm looking forward to the most are the gender revelation and feeling the first kick! I have awhile for both but so far it's flying so it should get here soon. I also am ready for my two sections of marshmallow to become one baby bump. Right now I just look really fat. I would like for it to be visible why I'm busting out of my clothes!!!

But yes, things are great just really tired all the time. Come on, energy!!!!!!

So I have learned this Mother's Day that this day brings up a lot of different emotions. Most think of their mothers, and spend the day thinking about how grateful they are. Seeing The Heartbeat

This past Monday was a special day. I got to see my baby's heartbeat for the first time. Also, this appointment was the first time I'd seen my doctor since I'd found out I was pregnant. Backstory: we've tried for 5 months to get me pregnant, altering meds, doing double procedures, the whole nine yards. And my doctor is WONDERFUL, I absolutely adore him. He's hilarious, SO sweet to me and we have bonded through the 5 months of me seeing him all the time about my failed pregnancy attempts. Well, fast forward to heart beat day he asked me if I wanted an ultrasound and I said yes! He turns the screen towards him, I guess to not upset me if he doesn't see anything and he immediately says in his adorable excited voice, "I see a baby and a heartbeat!" YAY!! Then he proceeds with, "but before I show you, I need to look at your ovaries, because I care." Then he turned the screen to me, and before my eyes stood a blurb of cuteness with a visual bulging...

Adam's First Party

Today, I got an invitation to an SMC pool party on September 13th. I was thinking to myself, "Oh fun, I love those!" And then it hit me! Adam will be here by then!!!! YAY!!!!!! He will be roughly 3 weeks old! Now I normally wouldn't be huge on exposing him to germs when he's so little, but because it's outside and fresh air, I think it could be good if I was recovering well. I would just need to make sure he is in the shade the entire time and that he doesn't get overheated.  I'm excited! His first party!! I was excited to RSVP with a +1. It made my day!!!!!
