Faith

As a child, I wasn't raised in church. I've always believed, but I never had any kind of routine, and my faith was minimal at best because of it. As a result, I frequently struggled with anger and depression and had no where to go with those feelings growing up. It led to a less than desirable adolescence. As I've grown into an adult, my faith has strengthened and every time I look at my perfect miracle of a son, I am so blessed beyond belief at the wonder of The Lord. As Adam's mother, I have a responsibility to raise him right. I want him raised in church. I want him to have something to believe in when life gets hard. I want him to understand the true meaning of Christmas and feel the heavenly spirit around him. I want him to be raised a Christian. I took Adam to my previous church and he was left in the care of the children's ministry nursery. That church is amazing and I am in no way diminishing its effectiveness. Progesterone

Image
Today I took a blood test to test my progesterone level. Now I'm still learning but from what I understand and have read, your progesterone level increases after ovulation. The object of the test is to make sure I'm ovulating. It was interesting looking at the research numbers. They rapidly rise in the duration of pregnancy, so if my level is high, it is POSSIBLE I am pregnant! A woman needs a level of 10 or higher to maintain a pregnancy. If my level is below 10, it is likely that I have not ovulated. However, it is possible to still be pregnant with low levels. If that were the case, my doctor would write me a prescription for progesterone to increase it. I am glad that she is monitoring me closely.  Here is a groovy graph for your enjoyment. You're welcome :0) I find out tomorrow what my level is! I'm going for high! Goooooo progesterone!!!!!!

Breastfeeding Class

Tonight I had the breastfeeding class. I've gotta say, I've really enjoyed the classes so far. Because I'm an avid reader, I knew a lot of the information already, but I did learn some new things that I didn't know when I walked in there. And it was great actually seeing a visual of a proper latch. Don't worry, we didn't bust out the boobs, we watched a video. Ha. Oh and get this, I wasn't the only person by myself this time! HOLLA!! I will say most had their husbands, who looked totally bored lol, and then a few had their moms with them, and then one other lady was by herself. I have to say that I am very impressed with my hospital. Their education classes are fantastic and they provide such great services for pregnant women. I am feeling really good about having my baby at Presby Dallas!
